Park and Rec classes are online and outdoors during COVID. Everything from fitness classes, drawing, and water colors, to martial arts, dog etiquette, and musical instruments. Classes available for all ages. The pools, tennis courts, golf course, and other outdoor activity areas are also included in the guide. Find the online guide and registration here.
Up to $400 in scholarships are available for Burbank residents to take park and rec classes. These scholarships can also be used for child care through parks and rec (Sumer Daze, After School Daze, etc). This is a means based program that ensures there are no barriers for our Burbank residents to enjoy the enrichment opportunities in our city.
Last night, the Burbank Planning Board heard a presentations on proposed regulations for short term rentals in Burbank. Currently, there are an estimated 400-500 unregulated AirBnB short term rentals in the city of Burbank. This proposal was intended to regulate these rentals.
The planning board rejected the proposal, and requested that more work be done to find a better solution, and to look for more community input.
To provide input, contact Nick Burant or Karen Pan in Community Development.
The planning board meeting where the material was discussed can be found here.
Burbank has a goal to build 12,000 more permanent housing units by 2035. Where should this housing be? And what kind of housing should it be? Those are the questions the community is invited to answer in this survey. Let our city leaders and planners know what you think is the best way for the city to accommodate more housing.
Until December 19th, Magnolia Park Merchants Association is hosting a scavenger hunt with participating small businesses. Visit all the stores to be entered into a drawing for one of three grand prizes of items donated by local merchants.
Have you encountered a business that is not adhering to LA County Health orders during COVID? If a Burbank business is not wearing masks or otherwise not adhering to the county orders, the most direct way to address the issue is to contact LA County Health. Fill out this form to submit a report.
